Home → New Slide. Pick Title and Content, Two Content, and Section Header layouts.

What a Slide Layout Does

A slide layout picks where placeholders sit on a new slide — title at top, body below, or two columns for a photo and bullets. Layout picks placeholder positions. Theme picks colours and fonts. You will match each Open Day slide to the layout that fits its content.

Dr. Helen Marsh's welcome message needs a title and bullet points. 1 In the slide pane, click slide 1 . 2 Click Home \to New Slide . 3 Click Title and Content in the gallery. 4 Expected result: Slide 2 appears with a title placeholder and a large body placeholder. 5 Click the title placeholder and type Welcome to Northgate Academy .

You may pick the wrong layout first. You can switch without retyping everything. 1 Click the slide thumbnail you want to change in the slide pane. 2 Click Home \to Layout . 3 Click the layout you need, e.g. Two Content . 4 Expected result: Placeholders move. Text usually stays in the nearest matching box. Fix: If text disappeared after changing layout, press Ctrl+Z to undo. Some layouts drop extra placeholders — copy text before switching.

Open Day uses Title and Content for most slides — Welcome, tour schedule, departments, and how to apply. Two Content fits the sports facilities slide: photo on one side, short bullets on the other. Title Slide is for slide 1 only. Blank has no placeholders and is slower to build.

Changing layout moves placeholders on one slide. Changing theme on Design recolours every slide. Build slide structure first with Home \to New Slide, then apply a theme in a later lesson.
