Heading, figure, and table numbering that updates itself.
List numbering linked to styles
Policy clauses should use multilevel list tied to Heading 2 and Heading 3 — not manual typing "3.1", "3.2". When James inserts a new behaviour rule, numbers reflow automatically.
Home → Multilevel List → Define New Multilevel List links each level to a heading style so the Navigation Pane and TOC stay aligned.
SEQ fields for figures and tables
Captions use SEQ fields — "Table 1", "Figure 2". References → Insert Caption creates the field. Never type the number yourself.
Insert → Quick Parts → Field → Seq is the manual path. Combine with StyleRef for running headers that show the current chapter title.
