Beyond Pictures from This Device

Modern Insert tools go beyond Pictures \to This Device . Icons lighten the departments slide; a 3D molecule model helps the science stand; stock photos fill gaps when you have no school photo yet. James Okonkwo adds maths and science icons beside department names, inserts a 3D model on the science tour slide, and pulls a licensed stock photo of a library from Insert \to Pictures \to Stock Images until real photos arrive. Always add alt text on photos and icons. Online media needs a network connection on Open Day — download a copy when possible.

Icons help parents scan five subjects quickly. 1 Click the Our departments slide. 2 Click Insert \to Images \to Icons . 3 Search book, calculator, flask, globe, palette . Select icons \to Insert . 4 Drag icons beside each department line. Use Picture Format \to Align to line them up. 5 With icons selected, click Graphics Format \to Graphics Fill and pick the theme accent. 6 Expected result: Each department has a small themed icon; icons are not stretched.

Open Day families can see a molecule or skeleton model during the science tour promo. 1 Click the slide about science facilities or add Two Content . 2 Click Insert \to Illustrations \to 3D Models \to Stock 3D Models . 3 Search molecule or microscope . Select one \to Insert . 4 In Slide Show, click and drag the model to rotate (when 3D is supported on the PC). 5 Expected result: A 3D model sits on the science slide without covering the title. Fix: If 3D Models is missing, use Microsoft 365 with 3D support or a static picture as fallback. Test on the Open Day laptop — older projectors may show a static view.

Until the new library photo shoot completes, a stock image fills the gap professionally. 1 Click Insert \to Pictures \to Stock Images (or Online Pictures). 2 Search school library, pick a photo \to Insert . 3 Right-click the picture \to View Alt Text . Type Students reading in the ${SCHOOL} library . 4 Click Picture Format \to Compress Pictures \to Use document resolution if the file grows large. For lobby loops, Insert \to Media \to Video \to Online Videos can embed an approved welcome clip. Set Playback \to Start to Automatically for lobby loop or When Clicked On for the live talk.

For Open Day, prefer Insert \to Video \to This Device over streaming links. Main Hall Wi-Fi can drop mid-playback. Right-click each icon \to View Alt Text \to type Maths icon or mark as decorative if your version supports it. Screen-reader users and accessibility checkers flag images without descriptions.
