Animations

The Animations tab affects objects on one slide — bullets, photos, shapes. It does not change how slides replace each other; that is the Transitions tab.

Dr. Helen Marsh talks through each department without showing them all at once on slide 4. Object animation supports that pacing.

• 1Click the Our departments slide.
• 2Click the edge of the text placeholder so the whole list is selected.
• 3Click Animations → Appear (or Wipe).
• 4Click Effect Options → By Paragraph.
• 5Click Animations → Animation Pane.
• 6Click Preview at the top of the Animation Pane.
• 7Expected result: Preview shows bullets appearing one at a time.

A subtle entrance draws attention after the title.

• 1Click the sports block photo.
• 2Click Animations → Fade.
• 3Set Start to After Previous if text animates first.
• 4Expected result: Photo fades in after or with previous effects.

The Animation Pane shows every effect on the current slide. Drag entries to reorder. Effect Options → By Paragraph splits one bullet list into separate effects — without it, all bullets appear together.

Transitions → Apply To All is for slide transitions, not bullet order. Home → Bullets changes markers, not animation timing.

Animate the departments slide and perhaps the sports photo — not every title on every page. Heavy animation on text-heavy slides slows the talk and distracts from James Okonkwo's tour schedule.

Test with Shift+F5 from the departments slide before Open Day.

If bullets all appear at once, select the list and choose Animations → Effect Options → By Paragraph. Each bullet then gets its own click during Slide Show.

Example — By Paragraph for a list: Select the bullet list → Animations → Appear → Effect Options → By Paragraph. Each line gets its own number in the Animation Pane and its own advance click in Slide Show.
