Flowchart Symbols
The terminator, input/output, process, decision, flow line, predefined process and connector — what each means and the rules for using them.

Rules for Good Flowcharts
- One Start and one Stop terminator.
- Flow goes top to bottom (and left to right). Arrows show the direction.
- Every decision has exactly two exits, labelled Yes/No (or True/False).
- Every other symbol has one arrow out.
- Keep text short: one action per symbol.
- Lines should not cross if you can avoid it.
- Every path must eventually reach Stop.
